About the artist
Maaike Siegerist [My·kuh Seeger·ist] is a Dutch artist living in Glasgow. Starting out as a guitar-based singer-songwriter inspired by classic jazz, her productions have expanded into rockier territory and electronica. Her songs often have a political or environmental dimension.
Music has shaped Maaike’s path since attending a songwriting retreat in Dumfries and Galloway in 2013. It sparked a move from the Netherlands to study songwriting at Bath Spa University. Since then, she’s lived and performed in London and Bristol, releasing two acclaimed albums and winning songwriting awards from Glastonbury FM and UWE Bristol. All the while, Maaike stayed in touch with Scottish songwriting friends and finally moved to Glasgow after the pandemic. Alongside her solo project, she’s now also the singer in the Scottish progressive rock band Long Earth, and releases haunting music as Dora Lachaise.

Moon and Mars is the second single from Maaike’s space-themed EP, Starbound, launched at the Glasgow Science Festival on 10 June 2025. The album is only available on Bandcamp and at gigs.
